Our Altrincham Office
Hill and Company Solicitors has been part of Altrincham for more than 170 years, which makes us one of the longest-established law firms in the town. Our office has always been here in the town centre, among the shops, cafes and market stalls, and generations of local families have walked through our door for help with buying a home, making a will, sorting out probate or getting advice at a difficult time. Our office sits on Market Street, in the oldest part of Altrincham, a couple of minutes on foot from the tram, train and bus at Altrincham Interchange and a short walk from the main town-centre car parks. Where we are
You will find us at 4-8 Market Street, Altrincham, Trafford, WA14 1QD, in the historic heart of the town centre. Market Street is one of Altrincham’s oldest streets, and our office is surrounded by well-known local landmarks that make us easy to find:
- Altrincham Town Hall is a few doors along Market Street, so if you can see its stone frontage you are almost at our door.
- Market House and Altrincham Market, the covered food hall and market that the town is known for, sit directly across the street from us.
- The Stamford Quarter shopping centre and its car park are a short walk away via High Street and are the easiest place to park.
- Altrincham Interchange, where the tram, trains and buses all arrive, is only a couple of minutes’ walk away.
Because everything in Altrincham town centre is close together and mostly flat, it is an easy walk to us from wherever you arrive.

- Stamford Quarter car park (WA14 1RH for your satnav) is a large, flat, multi-storey car park just a short walk from our office along High Street. There is a lift to street level, so you will not need to use stairs.
- Pay-and-display street parking is available on Market Street, although spaces may not always be available.
- Blue Badge holders: accessible bays are available at Stamford Quarter.
If you want the shortest walk, Stamford Quarter is usually the best option.
Finding our entrance
Our office has step-free access from the street, with reception just inside the main entrance on your right. All areas used by visitors are on the ground floor, including our meeting rooms, and there is a ground-floor toilet. Please let us know when you book if you need any other support. We can also meet you at the door to make your arrival easier.

How to get to us
By train
Altrincham Interchange has regular Northern trains on the Mid-Cheshire line, with direct services from Manchester Piccadilly (about 30 minutes) and Chester (about 60 minutes), stopping at Knutsford and Northwich. This is a good option if you are coming from farther away and prefer not to drive.
By tram
Altrincham is the last stop on the Manchester Metrolink line, with trams from the city centre arriving every few minutes throughout the day. Metrolink trams are low-floor and step-free, making them a good choice if stairs are a problem. From the tram platform, it is a short, flat walk along Market Street to our office.
By bus
Altrincham Interchange is also the main bus station, with buses coming from across Trafford and Greater Manchester. Ask for Altrincham Interchange, then follow Market Street. We are just a few minutes’ walk from there.
By car
Take the M56 to junction 7 and follow the signs to Altrincham town centre. See the parking information above for the best options.
