Hill and Company Solicitors takes accessibility seriously
We believe everyone has the right to access our services on the internet. We have worked to make this site accessible, aiming for WCAG AA compliance. This is the level of compliance that public sector organisations are committed to. Given the nature of our services and our concern for elderly and vulnerable clients we consider it the right standard for a practice like ours.
Specific accessibility considerations
- Legal matters can be complex, but we have endeavoured to write in plain English and answer common questions directly through a FAQ section
- All content images have descriptive alt text, to assist screen reader users
- We have avoided the use of scroll animations or effects that could affect people with vestibular conditions such as vertigo or motion sensitivity
- The site is designed to be navigable using a keyboard, including the main navigation
- Skip to content link provided for keyboard and screen reader users
- Pages use a logical heading structure to aid navigation by screen reader users
- We have used clearly legible typefaces and aimed to maintain strong colour contrast, meeting WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Links are descriptively labelled, either in-page or with ARIA labels
- All form fields are clearly labelled
- Error messages are descriptive and suggest how to correct the issue
- The site is fully responsive and usable on mobile devices
- Content is readable and functional when text is enlarged up to 200%
Feedback welcome
We appreciate technical considerations and checklists don’t provide the full picture in terms of accessibility. So if you have experienced any difficulties accessing this website, please contact us and let us know. We will respond to all reports, and do our best to address them.
