The Prospect of “No-Fault Divorce”


We at Hill & Company recognise that lots of separating couples can be amicable with each other but when it comes to one of them commencing the divorce process, unnecessary animosity can be caused by them having to base the divorce petition upon the fault of the other (unless they have been separated for 2 or more years).


MP’s will shortly be considering and voting on the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill which will introduce “no-fault divorce”.


Heather Broadfield, Partner and Head of the Family Department, is a member of an organisation called Resolution which aims to promote a constructive and non-confrontational approach to Family Law issues.
